Ofer Golan, Ph.D.
Dr. Ofer Golan is a Clinical Psychologist and Assistant Professor in the Department of Psychology, Bar-Ilan University, Israel. He specializes in the diagnosis and treatment of high functioning children, adolescents, and adults with autism spectrum conditions. Dr. Golan gained his Bachelor’s degree in psychology from Tel Aviv University; his Master’s in child clinical psychology from Bar-Ilan University; and his doctorate from the University of Cambridge, UK where he studied the effectiveness of computer-based, systematic, tutoring of emotion recognition in children and adults with autism spectrum conditions. During his time at Cambridge, Dr Golan contributed to the development and evaluation of Mind Reading: The Interactive Guide to Emotions and The Transporters television series. Dr Golan is a co-editor of the special issue of Autism: the international Journal of Research and Practice on Autism & Technology. He is also the clinical and academic director of the first clinic in Israel dedicated to evidence-based assessment and treatment of high functioning children, adolescents, and adults with autism spectrum conditions and their families.
